Bar Crawl: Warren
This sweet and walkable bayside town has a full set of friendly neighborhood bars.
1. Warren Cider Works
Head to this cidery with an antique Victorian bar for a tasting flight of locally harvested heirloom apples turned into tasty cider. Owner Spencer Morris cultivates the apples on an orchard in Touisset, then presses them and ferments the juices for nearly a year.
98 Child St., Warren, 252-6104, warrenciderworks.com
2. Bywater
This restaurant may be known for its locally driven cuisine but it treats cocktails like culinary projects too. Expect flavors of charred grapefruit and fresh herbs picked from the patio paired with infused spirits and housemade shrubs. Bonus points for Monday dollar oyster night.
54 State St., Warren, 694-0727, bywaterrestaurant.com
3. The Revival Craft Kitchen and Bar
Revival focuses on craft beers (many of them local), bourbon and rye, plus a whole menu of whiskey cocktails and hearty American food to match.
50 Miller St., Warren, 245-4500, therevivalcraftkitchenandbar.com
4. The Square Peg
If we could sit at the cozy six-seater bar on the Water Street side forever, with doors that open wide to let in the cool air and a pumpkin martini in hand, we would. Alas, there’s closing time. Be there or be square.
