The 25th Annual Rhode Island Design Awards
Pop open the bubbly! Time to celebrate our favorites over the years.
The project: A modern urban dwelling that acts as backdrop for the owner’s vintage posters.
What the judges liked in 2018: A cityscape design that’s unique, bold and elegant.
Why we like it now: An updated open concept that suggests a Frank Lloyd Wright influence in the way it blends with nearby trees and foliage. Despite its modernity, it’s not an eyesore in an older East Side neighborhood, and it looks as if it’s always been there. One of our staffers noted how it embraces a contemporary aesthetic but also brings the outside in. “I like the pops of green, echoing its natural surroundings. It’s a house I could live in, and my tastes are not very modern.”
