The Guild PVD Launches Outdoor Beer Garden in Providence
The Guild PVD is a part of Rhode Island’s #TakeitOutside campaign that is trying to stop the spread of COVID-19 by bringing businesses and consumers outdoors.
For the next few weekends, you can enjoy beer outdoors in Providence with a pop-up beer garden hosted by the Guild, a Pawtucket-based brewery cooperative involving Peak Brewing Company, Monopolio, Night Shift, Wash Ashore and Devil’s Purse breweries, Willie’s Superbrew and Hoot hard seltzers and its own made-in-house brews.
The beer garden will take up over 4,000 square feet of the Providence Innovation District Park and will allow seventy-four people in at a time on a socially distant, first-come, first-served basis. Food will also be available for purchase from a variety of food trucks, including Smoke and Squeal BBQ. The Guild PVD will be open Fridays 3-6 p.m., Saturdays 1-6 p.m. and Sundays noon-5 p.m. until Nov. 1.
The Guild PVD is a part of Rhode Island’s #TakeitOutside campaign that is trying to stop the spread of COVID-19 by bringing businesses and consumers outside in a safe way. It’s a public-private partnership between the Guild, Rhode Island Commerce and the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission.
“We’re very proud of the genuine community atmosphere we’ve been able to build in Pawtucket – and we couldn’t be more excited to bring that same model to this exciting new space,” says Jeremy Duffy, co-founder of the Guild. “We’re looking forward to spending the next few weekends in downtown Providence with craft beer lovers from all across the state.”
The hope is to continue this beer garden in the future. “The Guild PVD is a perfect representation of the potential the Providence Innovation and Design District has as a local hub for creative, community-focused business ideas,” says Bob Davis, chairman of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission. “We are excited to welcome Rhode Islanders to our space over the next few weekends, and – more importantly – we look forward to continue working with The Guild to make this idea an ongoing amenity in downtown Providence in 2021 and beyond.”
