The Fox Point pizza spot is working with twelve Rhode Island restaurants who will each cook a special pizza for one night only, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Pizza Marvin is teaming up with Rhode Island’s best restaurants for collaboration pies and ice creams. Coined the “Twelve Pies of Christmas,” the fifth annual, two-week long event will highlight specialty pizzas on specific dates from December 7 to 22 for dinner. Twelve spots will each cook a specialty pizza for one night only, served for dine-in or takeout at Pizza Marvin. Every year they choose a different nonprofit as the beneficiary, and this year, they are donating all of the proceeds from each pizza and ice cream to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Over the last four years, the Fox Point pizza hotspot has collectively raised funds during the holiday season to help local charities and nonprofits like Sojourner House, Amos House, Farm Fresh Rhode Island and the Boys and Girls Club. “Food security for our local community feels more vulnerable than ever this year, so let’s help  the Rhode Island Food Bank with a much-needed donation and eat some pizza while helping the cause,” say Pizza Marvin co-owners Robert Andreozzi and Jesse Hedberg.

Pizza Marvin is doing mashups with our favorite Rhode Island restaurants to showcase the culinary gems we have within the state. “We’ve got a bunch of familiar faces participating again this year as well as some first-timers getting in on the festivities,” say Andreozzi and Hedberg. “Here’s your chance to try your favorite local chefs’ cuisine in pizza form.”

In addition to the twelve restaurants, Gregg’s restaurant will be featuring a special ice cream flavor from Dec. 7-11, followed by Portugalia Marketplace from Dec. 14-22. Pre-ordering is live for the sure-to-sell-out pizzas on Fridays at 8 a.m. on Pizza Marvin’s website. The restaurant is also open seven days a week from noon to 10 p.m. for the everyday menu.

“Head to the online ordering link on our website and pick the day that coincides with the pizza you want. You’ll see the special appear at the top of the page, select a pickup time between 5-9 p.m. (dinner only!) and place your order. Week one’s pies go live tomorrow morning December 6 at 8 a.m., week two goes live Friday, December 13th and the final pies go up on the 20th. Walk-in orders will be available if we haven’t sold out yet, but these pies go quick so pre-orders are highly recommended!”

“It’s kinda like an advent calendar with pizzas instead of chocolates,” Andreozzi has previously said.
