Pizza Wine Celebrates its Newport Expansion with a Pizza Party on Monday
Guests will enjoy free slices of sourdough pizza from Mother Pizzeria alongside free wine pours at Utility in Middletown.
Pizza Wine is celebrating its expansion to Newport with a pizza party at Utility, located at 58 Aquidneck Ave. in Middletown, on Sept. 11 from 6-8 p.m.
Mother Pizzeria will serve free slices alongside free Pizza Wine pours and cans available for purchase. Utility will also give guests a ten percent discount on the entire store during the event and Pizza Wine will be selling a limited number of coolers with four cans at a discounted price.
Pizza Wine will be the only canned wine available at Mother Pizzeria, which was recently opened by chef Kevin O’Donnell, who also own Giusto. They will soon serve cans alongside their sourdough pizza at their quick-service to-go counter and in their sit-down dining room. The Mission group is also serving Pizza Wine alongside its burgers at Mission, and it will also be available at their retail shop, Utility, located next door.
The sparkling red wine canned beverage pairs perfectly with pizza, and the Newport expansion hopes to tie the culinary passions of Providence and Newport together. “We wanted to create a brand that could celebrate experiences across Rhode Island,” says Alaina Andreozzi, co-founder of Pizza Wine. “Utility is the perfect place to celebrate the start of our Newport journey — a space for every chef, host and guest. We share their vision of making elevated dining feel accessible and bringing the community exceptionally great products.”
The pizza party hopes to be a celebration of future Rhode Island food industry collaborations between Providence and Newport.
“I loved the idea of throwing a pizza party with Mother in a continuation of our Utility Sip and Shop pop-up series,” says Anna Burnley, co-owner of the Mission Group, which also owns Thames Street Kitchen (TSK). “It’s been a fun way to get together with friends and celebrate what the community is building.”
