Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue, a Rhode Island Monthly 2021 Best of Rhode Island winner for animal rescue organization, provides abandoned, unwanted and stray animals with food, shelter, veterinary care and the opportunity for adoption into a loving home. In the last twelve months, Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue has housed 361 kittens/cats while also assisting other organizations with pre- and post-operation of their pets. The building in which this organization is currently located is a shared space with PAAWS RI, an animal shelter in Warwick. Veterinarian Dr. Annette Rauch of PAAWS RI has been gracious enough to give Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue access to crucial vet resources for the animals.

The impact of COVID-19 has impeded Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue in numerous ways: volunteers couldn’t make it to help, supplies and monetary donations stopped coming in, countless kitten litters were born, veterinary procedures were put on hold, all leading up to the building’s lease coming to an end this December.

To save the facility and services, they are raising funds that will continue to allow them to rehabilitate and find forever homes for kittens/cats. Donations are going straight to a permanent home for Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue. Any donation amount will help to save this organization and save the lives of kittens/cats that have nowhere else to go.
