Minion scarecrows in downtown Pawtuxet Village.

Walking through Pawtuxet Village has never been safer from unwanted birds with the ninth annual Pawtuxet Village Scarecrow Contest hosted by Friends of Pawtuxet Village. Throughout the month of October, scarecrows are adorning the light posts in the village.

The scarecrows have been made by community groups and members and are eligible to be voted Best in Show. Village visitors can walk around and vote for their favorite scarecrow by filling out a ballot and donating $1. The winner will be announced on Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. on Facebook and the money raised from the event will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.

Ballots may be downloaded and printed beforehand or you can pick one up at one of three stores. These stores are also where you submit your completed ballot. The stores are Twice Told Tales at 2145 Broad St., Cranston, Cork and Brew at 2200 Broad St., Cranston, and Noon Design at 18 Post Rd., Warwick.

Go out and vote for the best scarecrow and shop local!
