Hannah Manning of Providence will help host the Meeting Street Telethon on Saturday.

Meeting Street’s forty-fourth annual telethon, presented by Cardi’s Furniture and Mattresses, will air on WPRI 12 on Saturday, January 25 from 7 to 11 p.m. Hosted by WPRI 12’s news anchors and several children who receive services from Meeting Street, the telethon will include an inside look at Meeting Street, special segments featuring Meeting Street’s programs and live interviews with supporters, staff and families.

Founded in 1946, Meeting Street empowers children and their families to thrive by fostering the development of the whole child. The telethon has always been the school’s largest fundraiser of the year, raising more than $1 million in 2019.

As far as tradition goes, not only will the telethon be hosted by WPRI 12 news anchors, it will also include children who participate in Meeting Street’s services. One of the children you’ll see is Hannah Manning of Providence. Hannah is in the third grade at the Grace School, which is nationally recognized for its inclusive education model for students of all abilities. She enjoys sign language, music classes and also participates in Meeting Street’s Girl Scout Group. Three other children that will also be featured are from Massachusetts.

The general public is invited to experience the live action of the telethon at Meeting Street’s Providence campus. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy tours of Meeting Street, hospitality from Twin Oaks and Dunkin Donuts Center, as well as children’s activities. During the telethon, there will also be a beautiful tribute to Nick Cardi, who was a wonderful supporter of the schools and the services that they provided.
