The best week in Rhode Island craft brewing is back for another round, and craft beer lovers will want to gear up for the celebration of all things beer.

The Rhode Island Brewers Guild is organizing the third annual Rhode Island Craft Beer Week starting this Friday, March 1, and lasting until Sunday, March 10. For those counting, that’s two full weekends to enjoy a jam-packed schedule of tastings, food pairings, theme nights, contests and more.

Started two years ago, Rhode Island Craft Beer Week is a time for the state’s brewers to get even more creative than usual and enjoy some good, old-fashioned brewery camaraderie. Highlights include the “We are the North” northern Rhode Island beer crawl with Lops Brewing, Bravo Brewing and Ravenous Brewing Company, and a “Lager Con” celebration of the iconic lager at Narragansett Beer on Saturday, March 2.

Foodies will also have plenty to enjoy this week with three beers dinners hosted by Narragansett Beer at Coast Guard House in Narragansett on Friday, March 1, Proclamation Ale Company at Bywater in Warren on Tuesday, March 5, and Grey Sail Brewing at the taproom featuring live music from My Druthers Irish duo on Wednesday, March 6. Linesider Brewing Company is also hosting its second annual Chili Fest on Saturday, March 2, and Tilted Barn Brewery will offer Food Trucks and Foeder, showcasing some of its favorite foeder and barrel-aged beers, on Saturday, March 9.

For the sports fans, Shaidzon Beer Co. has teamed up with the Rhody Rams for a special ticket offer for the URI men’s basketball game versus Saint Louis on Saturday, March 2. The package includes a ticket to the game, a complimentary pour during a special pregame event at Shaidzon and a Rhody swag item. For the less athletically inclined, join Providence Brewing Company on Friday, March 1, for a night of taproom table tennis.

“RI Craft Beer Week heightens attention on both unique and recurring programming at Rhode Island brewery taprooms,” says Nils Weldy, executive director of the Rhode Island Brewers Guild. “There’s long-lasting value to discovering a run club, weekly trivia night, musician or new favorite food truck as a result of visiting your local brewery. Taprooms are multi-generation community hubs, and RI Craft Beer Week is a purposeful gateway to finding a new community.”

During this week only, Rhode Island brewery-goers can earn double passport stamps at local breweries through the RI Brewery Passport App. Those who earn enough points toward their passports are eligible for special prizes, including a Solo-cup style pint glass, official RI Brewers Guild beanie and a “mystery prize” mailed to eligible winners.

“We attract enthusiasts of all kinds — homebrewers, Jeep drivers and, of course, dog lovers,” says Mark Papi, owner and head brewer of the canine-themed Six Pack Brewing in Bristol. “If a new customer finds out about Six Pack through RI Craft Beer Week and joins our Mug Club or one of our regular meet-ups, that’s a big win for us.”

Learn more about these highlights and see the full lineup of events on the Rhode Island Craft Beer Week web page. The RI Brewery Passport App is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
