Yas Chicken Opens New Location in Providence
Calling all local foodies: there’s no need to ship up to Massachusetts anymore because this TikTok-famous, fried-up fantasy has officially opened its doors in Little Rhody.
Have you ever scrolled through TikTok or Instagram at three in the morning to find clips of foodies ripping apart triple-decker sandwiches for a slow-motion capture of twelve inches worth of melted cheese dripping down layers of chicken and sauce? Don’t be ashamed, we all have. Fortunately, as Ocean State foodies, we’ve got something to celebrate because the popular local food chain Yas Chicken is bringing that picture-perfect image to the palms of our hands with its new location on Thayer Street in Providence.
Named by TikTokers as the best fried chicken in New England, Yas Chicken is where fried chicken meets asian-fusion. With an unexpected, fresh take on everyone’s go-to comfort food, there’s much to enjoy with its simple yet exciting menu. Whether you’re satisfying a craving or looking to try something new, Yas Chicken has all the fixings to satiate and delight. Try the Ya Hot N Ya Cold, a toasted brioche bun filled with fried chicken tenders and topped with coleslaw and homemade spicy YAS Sauce for a classic experience. Or have fun with the Wonton Mozz (mozzarella cheese wrapped with crispy wonton skin), the Korean Corn Dog or Seafood Rangoons.
All the restaurant’s sauces are homemade and boast major spice. If you need something sweet to beat the heat, Yas Chicken also fries up fluffy Belgian waffles and YAS Munchkins, a.k.a. fried doughnuts dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with white chocolate.
With snappy, colloquial menu item names like the Mac Zaddy — a spicy garlic glazed fried chicken sandwich topped with mac ‘n cheese — there’s no doubt that this restaurant’s lineup is catering to the guiltiest of pleasures — and they’re having fun while doing it.
Yas Chicken is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and the kitchen is open until 11 p.m on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To order online, visit Yas Chicken’s website or order in person at 272 Thayer Street in Providence. For more NSFW food content, check out Yas Chicken’s Instagram.
