RI Food Fights is running a Vegan Valentine Popup Pickup, the next installment in a series of plant-based compilations from local plant-based businesses. Nab a box filled with vegan sweets from Celebrated, KNEAD Doughnuts, Blush Bakeshop, Basil and Bunny, Plant City, Miss Vegan, Aura’s Chocolate and more, including a four-pack of Yacht Club Soda and a pint of hand-packed dairy-free frozen dessert from Warwick Ice Cream. Oberlin is planning a $65 four-course Valentine’s Day takeout dinner (hot and ready or take and make at home). The meal includes frutti di mare with shellfish, crudos and aioli; black truffle ravioli with potato and parmigiana; organic wild harmony pork alla Milanese with celeriac and salsa verde; and chocolate babka with honey and cream. Julians is still holding its annual Valentine’s Day six-course dinner on February 14. There will be two seatings; one at 5 p.m. or 8 p.m. Vegan options are available for every course. The Providence G is celebrating Valentine’s Day two different ways this year, including a four-course prix-fixe menu at the Rooftop at the G or a three-course dinner inside the Ballroom at the G. The Rooftop dinner is $85 per person, and includes crab deviled eggs, burrata with citrus and pistachio, duck leg confit, lobster fra diavolo and chocolate panna cotta with blood orange gelee for dessert. Local acoustic performer, Briana White, will provide live entertainment during dinner. Private igloos are also available. The Ballroom dinner is $55 per person, and includes crab deviled eggs, beet salad with citrus, braised short rib and a profiterole ice cream sandwich with cherry ice cream and chocolate drizzle. Edgewood Cheese Shop in Cranston is riding that charcuterie wave, even though they’ve already been open for several years, long before Instagram made it a thing. The artisan shop is creating beautiful charcuterie platters for couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home. The Cheese and Chocolate platter is available for Valentine’s Day only, and it’s decked out with cheeses, meats, chocolates, fresh fruit and nuts and includes a sliced baguette.
