It’s almost that time again, folks. Big stuffed bears and candy in heart-shaped boxes are starting to line the shelves of your local CVS, but we know you’re more original than that. Take a look at our list, make a reservation, order some fancy takeout and impress your significant other (Don’t worry, we won’t tell them we helped.)

  1. Order Vegan Valentine’s Treats

RI Food Fights is running a Vegan Valentine Popup Pickup, the next installment in a series of plant-based compilations from local plant-based businesses. Nab a box filled with vegan sweets from Celebrated, KNEAD Doughnuts, Blush Bakeshop, Basil and Bunny, Plant City, Miss Vegan, Aura’s Chocolate and more, including a four-pack of Yacht Club Soda and a pint of hand-packed dairy-free frozen dessert from Warwick Ice Cream. 2. Julians Six-Course Dinner

Julians restaurant is once again holding its annual Valentine’s Day six-course dinner on February 14. 3. Rooftop at Providence G and Providence G Ballroom

The Providence G is celebrating Valentine’s Day a couple different ways this year, including an option for late-night cocktail service and a private firepit dining experience on multiple dates. There’s a four-course pre-fixe menu from Feb. 11-Feb. 14 and a galentine’s day pre-fixe menu available on Feb. 13 only. Enjoy drinks on the rooftop while listening to Dave Alves from 6-10 p.m., a private fireside dinner, a themed dinner planned for you and a loved one or friends or enjoy a night out with some besties, sparkling wine and a build-your-own bouquet booth. Both the fireside dining and pre-planned courses start at $55-$85 per person while the Galentine’s option is $95 per person. Dinner includes appetizers such as pimento cheese dip, crispy Brussels and chicken and waffles. Entrees such as tuna nicoise, mushroom linguine and a grilled pork chop are offered. What’s Valentine’s Day without a sweet dessert? The Providence G offers ICBM which consists of Bailey’s ice cream, brownie marshmallow and candied peanuts. Not much of a chocolate person? Try the Eaton Mess which is a dish consisting of macerated berries, meringue and whipped cream. 4.Download 1 Edgewood Cheese Shop Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Platter

Edgewood Cheese Shop in Cranston is riding that charcuterie wave, even though they’ve already been open for several years, long before Instagram made it a thing. The artisan shop is creating beautiful charcuterie platters for couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home. The Cheese and Chocolate platter is available for Valentine’s Day only, and it’s decked out with cheeses, meats, chocolates, fresh fruit and nuts and includes a sliced baguette. 5. Ocean House Valentine’s Dinner at COAST

Enjoy an elegant night out at the Ocean House in COAST restaurant happening on Fri., Feb. 11 -Sun., Feb. 13 from 5:30-9 p.m. Note: The Ocean House is closed on Mondays. Listen to harpist, Faith Letner, while she plays romantic and elegant music and you enjoy seasonally-inspired dishes created by the Five-Star COAST team. This Valentine’s Day weekend, take your loved one to Mill’s Tavern for an extra special meal. With drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts specially crafted just for the holiday, this is sure to be a meal you’ll remember for a while. A Valentine’s Prix Fixe for Two will be available Friday, February 11 through Monday, February 14. The special menu, in addition to the regular menu, will offer appetizers such as crab and tiger baked stuffed U8 white tiger shrimp, seared foie gras and yuzu kosho scallop ceviche. 7.  Valentine’s Romance Retreat at the Vanderbilt in Newport

12. Red Stripe Valentine’s Dinner

Red Stripe in Providence will celebrate Valentine’s Day with menu specials, available for dining in from Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 14 running from 4 p.m.-close. 13. The Mosaic Table’s Valentines At-Home Restaurant Experience for Two

The Mosaic Table in Warren specializes in intimate and intentional dining experiences. Expect a creative menu, delicious food, optional wine pairings and of course, hospitality. This Valentine’s Day, the Mosaic Table is offering a “Valentines At-Home Restaurant Experience For Two.” The menu allows you to choose one or two appetizers, one or two entrees and one or two desserts. If one appetizer, entree or dessert is chosen, there will be a serving size of two. If two are chosen, you will each get your own serving size. Appetizers include beet fritters with lemon yogurt dipping sauce and a French bistro salad with goat cheese crostini and citrus vinaigrette. 14. PVDonuts V-Day Boxes

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with something extra sweet. PVDonuts, located in Providence, is offering V-Day doughnut boxes specially made for the occasion. Starting in February, you can choose up to four valentine-themed options. The first box, “Donut Day Date,” holds your choice of three donuts and two personal bottles of rosé. The second box, “The Cookie Box,” holds three brioche candy heart-style doughnuts with two different lettering options. 15. Kin Dinner

With COVID-19 still in full swing, couples may feel nervous about going out to celebrate the evening. Join the Rhode Island Historical Society on Thurs., Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. for a virtual evening full of cocktails, cheese samplings and an inside look at the most romantic items in the RIHS collection.
