RI Feeds Our Heroes 2.0 Helps Feed Frontline Workers through Restaurant Gift Cards

Funds raised through the GoFundMe campaign will be used to purchase gift cards from local restaurants and donated to nurses and hospital staff in the state.

Rifeeds

We’ve reached the end of 2020, where frontline workers continue to keep people safe, especially as COVID-19 cases surge. With the help of the RI Feeds Our Heroes 2.0 GoFundMe page and people who donate to it, hospital staff from RI Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Miriam Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital can enjoy meals from various restaurants.

During April of this year, the owner of Providence Bagel Chris Wietecha, Robin Dionne from RI VegFest and RI Food Fights founder Jim Nellis created the RI Feeds Our Heroes GoFundMe campaign in an effort to raise money for frontline workers who are risking their lives daily. The trio raised $25,000 in donations, then later delivered more than $30,000 worth of gift cards to hand to the hardworking hospital staff in Rhode Island.

This December, the GoFundMe campaign will help feed frontline workers once again while supporting our local restaurants.

Every cent raised during the RI Feeds Our Heroes campaign goes towards gift cards that will be purchased from local restaurants and donated to nurses and hospital staff in the state.

Show your appreciation for all the work they’ve done to protect us. Donate and/or share the page and encourage others to help out as well.
