Rhode Island Monthly Earns Five Finalist Nods from City and Regional Magazine Association Awards

The work recognized includes a look at Schartner Farms' controversial greenhouse, a guide to tattoos in Rhode Island and a trip down memory lane at Rocky Point.

The City and Regional Magazine Association has named twenty-nine publications as finalists for its annual awards program recognizing excellence in editorial, writing and design in magazines around the country. Rhode Island Monthly this year earned five finalist nods in categories ranging from feature story to general excellence.

The City and Regional Magazine Association is made up of place-based publications from around the country. Its forty-one-year-old awards program is coordinated by the Missouri School of Journalism and this year recognizes 190 finalist entries across categories. Judges included representatives from various media outlets as well as professors from the Missouri School of Journalism. Other publications selected for finalist recognition include Boston, Chicago magazine, Yankee Magazine and the Washingtonian, among others.

Winners in each category will be announced during the fiftieth annual CRMA conference taking place May 30–June 1 in New Orleans. The contest recognizes work published in 2025.
