Isolation Idea: Paint and Vino’s Virtual Paint Night

You can use your own supplies or pick up a complete kit — two glasses of wine and all! — from Paint and Vino's headquarters in Pawtucket.

Raise your hand if you, too, have had just about enough of your nightly Netflix binge. (Although: “Ozark” season 3 finale, yiiikes.)

Thankfully, salvation comes in the form of a painting party. Through April, Pawtucket’s Paint and Vino is offering virtual paint classes where future Picassos can log onto Zoom for instruction. Participants can scrounge around the house for their own supplies and follow along for $10, but the studio also offers take-home kits for pickup, which include all the supplies you need to paint — brushes, sponges, a canvas, paints and two free beverages of your choice (selection below) — for $35.

Kits are available for pickup during a scheduled time slot the day before each virtual class. Participants who choose beer or wine must show an ID at pickup; soda and juice boxes are available for non-imbibers and kids.

Says Paint and Vino owner Rachel Araujo, “Classes have been going fantastic and all our customers are raving about how much fun they are, but we need more attendance for our classes (just to survive this).” So support a local business — and a perennial Best of Rhode Island winner, we might add — sip some wine and beautify your isolation pad in one swoop. And make it a party: Invite a buddy you miss to join in or schedule a private party just for your group of family or friends.
