6 Rhody Businesses Pull Ultimate April Fools’ Pranks

We enjoyed seeing all these jokes on social media today. Did they fool you, too?

Today is April Fools’ Day. Did you forget? We knew better, so we were on the prowl for hoaxes and jokes from Rhode Island businesses that notoriously use this day to pull a fast one on beloved customers. Sometimes it’s good to just have some fun and see if people take pranks seriously. Here are some of the best April Fools’ jokes we saw from Rhode Island food and drink businesses today.

1. Grey Sail Brewing of Westerly now offers the Capri Sun of brews.

2. Basta in Cranston entrees are now available in the frozen foods aisle of Stop and Shop.

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BREAK THIS NEWS! Today more than ever it is critical to connect with customers where they are, and to offer convenience and quality in the process. For this reason, we are very excited to announce that Basta is launching a first-of-its-kind gourmet frozen food line! Our collaboration with local and regional supermarket brands will see our products at stores in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts, with fingers crossed for expansion throughout New England in the coming months! We are launching with three of our most popular items, including our Rigatoni Bolognese, Faroe Island Salmon over Risotto and, of course, the Famous “Basta Chop”, stuffed with prosciutto di parma and fresh mozzarella and blanketed with our signature lobster cream and wild shrimp! To ensure the highest quality standards are maintained, we fly all of our microwavable containers in from Naples, Italy. This guarantees the most authentic frozen dining experience possible and it separates us from the competition in a big way. So the next time you are trying to decide between a delicious and elegant meal and watching Game of Thrones in your PJs, look no further than your freezer! We are so excited to share this news with you and as always, appreciate each and every one of you for the support. Products will begin hitting shelves in Q2, with an interactive store finder to launch on our website in the coming weeks. Stay tuned. -The Basta Team
