RI-Based Film Starring Josh Peck, Sophia Bush and More is Finally Coming to a Screen Near You
'Junction' follows America’s current opioid crisis from three different points of view.
Little Rhody is once again giving La La Land a run for its money. Nearly two years after Josh Peck, Jamie Chung, Bryan Greenberg and more celebrities descended upon the Patio on Main following a long day of filming nearby, their Rhode Island-based film, Junction, is finally set to release in theaters and VOD at the end of this month.
Directed by Greenberg and produced by Verdi Productions (which is based in East Greenwich), Junction follows America’s current opioid crisis from three different points of view: the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, a frustrated doctor and a desperate patient. Along with the aforementioned stars, well-known names like Sophia Bush, Ryan Eggold, Ashley Madekwe and Griffin Dunne will also appear in the film. Catch them surrounded by some familiar south County scenery in the trailer below.
Junction is just one of many high-profile projects filmed in Rhode Island in recent years, joining the ranks of Hocus Pocus 2, Good Burger 2 and “the Gilded Age.” Its production company, Verdi Productions, also recently completed filming for another project, Chosen Family, in Rhode Island this past spring. The film stars Julia Stiles, Thomas Lennon and Andrea Savage, with principal photography having occurred in East Greenwich, Providence, Warwick and North Kingstown, and is slated for a late 2024 release.
Luckily you won’t have to wait nearly as long to catch glimpses of the Ocean State on screen: be sure to check local theater listings near you for Junction on January 26th, or you can also pre-order the film on iTunes here.
