Virtual Indoor Golf is Open in Newport

Get into the swing of things at Newport's state-of-the-art indoor golf facility.

Newport’s new indoor golf facility boasts four – soon to be five – virtual golf bays, a putting green, private lessons, club rental and repair and more. Pro golfers and amateurs alike can choose to play on one of over thirty virtual courses found around the world, from Scotland to Brazil, Maryland to Florida and everywhere else in between. Using state-of-the-art Trackman technology, the player hits the ball into the screen and it reacts in real time. The player then sees a virtual representation of how they did while the program also serves up statistics about their swing.

Indoor golfing also means that weather isn’t a deterrent from the game. Rain, sunshine or three feet of snow on the ground, tee times at Newport Indoor Golf are always up to par. Whether guests are putting around on the green or playing on the Olympic golf course in Rio de Janeiro, this facility is a great spot to practice swings.

Guests can participate in a one-on-one lesson with a PGA professional, bring up to seven friends to play with them or book a private event in the 5,000 square foot facility. Tee times can be requested up to thirty days in advance.

Newport Indoor Golf Founder, Max Buerman, mentioned that the facility has been buzzing since opening day. “I would be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. if I could manage it, but I don’t have the staff yet,” he says. “Weekends have been consistently booked since Christmas.”
