Trendsetter: Meet Photographer Lucio Andreozzi
The fashion photographer shares what he's learned from photographing fashion weeks, red carpets and today's biggest stars.
Can you walk me through your journey in photography?
In 2020, I was feeling uninspired in a corporate sales role, and the pandemic forced me to reevaluate what I wanted out of life. On a bit of a whim, I left the corporate world, bought a camera and started offering free photo sessions to family and friends. Four months later, I was hired by Rhode Island native Olivia Culpo as her personal photographer and content creator. Over time, that role evolved, which allowed me to expand my client list and work with talent, balancing fashion weeks, red carpets, hosting gigs and global travel.
You’ve photographed many celebrities, notably Julianne Hough and Hannah Berner. What is something your subjects get right when it comes to fashion?
What truly makes someone fashionable, in my opinion, is how well they understand and commit to their own personal style. The people mentioned all have very distinct aesthetics, and once you get to know them personally, it’s clear that their style is an extension of who they are. What they consistently get right is treating fashion as a complete, styled look rather than just an outfit. It’s not only about the clothes; it’s the thoughtful pairing of shoes, accessories, hair and makeup. The strongest looks are always the most cohesive ones.
How has your own fashion sense evolved?
My personal style has changed completely over the past five years. Being immersed in the fashion world, having a front-row seat to fashion week and working closely with people who live and breathe style has been educational. This has made me more thoughtful about what I’m buying. I’m drawn to designer pieces now, not so much for the label, but because those brands are stylistically setting the tone for the industry and tend to prioritize quality. That said, I love mixing those investment pieces with simple basics.
How do you think a Rhode Island upbringing impacted your style?
Having four distinct seasons played a big role in my style. I naturally dress with the season in mind rather than reacting to the weather day by day. In the warmer months especially, my style takes on a very Rhode Island feel. There’s an ease to it. Very elevated, coastal and slightly preppy. It’s inspired by Newport and growing up around the water. It’s relaxed but considered, which really sums up how I like to dress overall.
What are your fashion predictions based on what you’ve observed through work?
It feels like fashion is slowly moving away from the ultra–quiet luxury moment and heading toward something a little louder and more expressive. On the Milan runways, there’s been a shift toward bolder statements. We’re seeing oversized silhouettes, intentional mismatching, vibrant colors and unapologetic patterns. Shooting models and celebrities in bold colors, dramatic shapes and unique styling keeps things visually exciting and creatively fresh. It feels like designers are remembering that they’re allowed to have fun. @lucioandreozzifoto
