The “Change the World” Celebration Will Raise Funds for an Exhibit in Memory of Anthony Putnam
This fundraiser will support the development of an interactive exhibit called “Change the World,” part of the new Early Childhood Science Learning Center, opening in late 2026.
The Worcester EcoTarium is undergoing an expansion, and part of the addition is being constructed in memory of a special little boy, Anthony Putnam, who lost his life at five years old. Next weekend, there is a fundraiser to help generate funds to produce the “Change the World” exhibit.
The “Change the World” Celebration, on Saturday, April 5 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Worcester EcoTarium, will include exploration of the exhibits, animal encounters, a silent auction, music, a selection of drinks (two free drink tickets included), heavy appetizers from Simply Delicious Catering and more. It’s a night of exploration, connection and fun for adults of all ages.

The future “Change the World” interactive exhibit will share Anthony’s vision for a brighter future with clean oceans, no litter, and an end to homelessness and war. The goal of this exhibit is to inspire both children and adults to think about how they too can make the world a better place.

The “Change the World” online auction runs in conjunction with the “Change the World” Celebration which will be held on Saturday, April 5. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the development of the “Change the World” interactive exhibit in the EcoTarium’s new Early Childhood Science Learning Center (opening late 2026). Silent auction bidding will close at 8:30 p.m., April 5, 2025. Participation in the silent auction can be done fully remotely – you do not need to attend the event.
