Color Our World

The project: A subdued suburban Colonial in need of a facelift.
What the judges liked in 2014: Chiappone’s use of stripes, colors and patterns is “bold and passionate.” The mix of old and new creates a contemporary vibe.
Why we like it now: The layout is symmetrical but isn’t humdrum, proof that here is where this talented pro shines. She pushes the design envelope with results that look organic, not staged or forced. Even loved but dated heirlooms are used in a punchy, playful way and look as if they belong right where they are.
