Local Soda Company Adds a Refreshing Twist to Election Season

Yacht Club Soda takes a light-hearted approach to the 2024 election saga by reminding the public that despite differences, there is always a common ground — even if it is sharing a soda.

Yacht Club Soda, Rhode Island’s well-known and official soda company, enters the 2024 election by engaging in a unique way to combat the heated tension this election season.

This year, Yacht Club Soda has decided to turn recent political tensions into an opportunity for community engagement. Earlier this summer, the company released two flavored sodas that would compete against each other in the so-called “Soda Pop Poll.” By taking a page out of the 2024 elections, the company introduced a blueberry-raspberry flavored soda, named after President Joe Biden, called “Joe Bidenomics.” Following the release of Joe Bidenomics, a tropical punch-flavored drink called “Donald’s Trumpian Punch,” named after former President Donald Trump, entered the scene.

Amid real-life events, after President Joe Biden stepped down from the race, and Vice President Kamala Harris took the lead, Yacht Club Soda found the perfect opportunity to raise the stakes by introducing “Kamala’s Berry Surprise” soda. Made from the same berry flavor as “Joe Bidenomics,” “Kamala’s Berry Surprise” features a fresh new label design.

The artists behind the new label, Frankie Galasso and Kristina Cinquegrana Petrilli, gave every bottle a vibrant and collectible look to support this race. Galasso, a recognized cartoonist known for his work in sports, editorial, and entertainment drew the Limited Release label art. Meanwhile, Petrilli, renowned graphic designer and artist, and co-founder of Faith & Grace Design Studios, handled the label design.

“Like the rest of America, and the world, we were surprised by President Biden’s unprecedented decision to drop out of the race. But making soda at Yacht Club never stops and our team is fired up to release ‘Kamala’s Berry Surprise,’” says Yacht Club Soda owner John Sgambato. The show must go on, and so does soda-making.”

The limited-edition flavors “Donald’s Trumpian Punch” and “Kamala’s Berry Surprise” will only be available during election season, or while supplies last.

To cast your vote in this “election,” make sure you purchase either Soda Pop Poll flavors, now available at the Yacht Club Factory Store in North Providence or their website at yachtclubsoda.com. You can also find these flavors in farmers’ markets, local stores, and restaurants through multiple distributors. The results of the poll will be released this fall.
