Get Free Delivery from All Federal Hill Restaurants and Shops
Place your takeout orders and shop with local small businesses who are struggling to stay afloat.
Don’t feel like leaving your house? Frankly, you probably shouldn’t be leaving the house unless it’s for essentials, work, food or exercise, but we still want to keep our beloved local restaurants and small storefronts in business. Instead of visiting a national chain for takeout or goods, please place your takeout orders and shop with local small businesses who are struggling to stay afloat.
Most Rhode Island restaurants continue to offer contactless takeout, available through website ordering. More recently, the Federal Hill neighborhood in Providence enacted its own independent free delivery service from Federal Hill businesses to anywhere within a twelve-mile radius of the Hill, thanks to a HArt Grant distributed through the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation. The Federal Hill Commerce Association entered into an agreement with DASAP (Delivery As Soon As Possible), a local delivery service run by Kenneth Zorabedian, to provide the free delivery from restaurants and shops.
“From now until December 31st, anything you would like from various merchants, restaurants and businesses from Federal Hill, we will have it delivered through DASAP at no charge to the business or the customer,” says Rick Simone, executive director of the Federal Hill Commerce Association. They are also including a free bottle of Sanitizer from Sanitides with each delivery order.
“This initiative delivers on the goal of helping restaurants and other small businesses stay afloat while Rhode Islanders stay safe,” says Rhode Island Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor. “We’re pleased that our HArT grant is enabling customers to shop from home while still supporting the small businesses that are at the heart of this historic neighborhood.”
