Experience the White Winter Alba Truffle Menu at La Masseria
The East Greenwich restaurant is embracing the special season in Italy with an entire menu dedicated to shaved truffles from Piedmont.
Italian restaurant La Masseria in East Greenwich has an entire winter truffle menu dedicated to white winter Alba truffles, which are harvested from October to December in Italy. The winter white truffle (tuber magnatum) is sometimes called a Piedmont or Alba Truffle. The restaurant offers shaved truffles on dishes from bruschetta with melted fontina and truffles and polenta with truffles to creamy risotto, fresh pastas and filet topped with truffles.
Guests can also choose from incredible seafood dishes like a full raw bar with oysters on the half shell and cocktail shrimp, as well as halibut and swordfish and slow-cooked octopus. There’s also an option to do a whole-grilled Mediterranean branzino. Carnivores can opt for filet mignon with mushroom sauce and roasted potatoes, or one of the many other prime cuts of steak or veal chops.
La Masseria has one of the most epic, extensive menus in the state with multiple choices in every protein and pasta category. And do not skip dessert. I recommend the tiramisu and ricotta cheesecake, but the house ice cream, apple tart and flourless chocolate cake are all decadent too. Most dishes can be ordered for takeout, but they are open for dining in and bar seating now too.
