Ballet Meets The Beatles with Ballet RI Performances
The most popular songs from the Beatles anthology will be brought to life through dance this weekend.
Beatniks can move and groove in their seats while watching Ballet RI take the stage this weekend for Ballet Meets The Beatles. The most popular songs from the Beatles anthology will be brought to life through dance. There are only two chances left to see the show on March 29 and 30 at the Woodman Center in Providence. The performance incorporates choreography with top hits from the Fab Four, putting a modern spin on ballet.
A Day in the Life was created by choreographer Trey McIntyre, which was praised by The Washington Times as “a thrilling evocation of their music and its moods.” Beatles songs are brought to life through storytelling and movement on the stage. Also featured are Es Muss Seiner, by acclaimed choreographer Yury Yanowsky, and an exciting new work by Ken Ossola, both performed to live music by Rhode Island’s renowned Aurea Ensemble.
“Ballet RI is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of classical dance and engaging audiences with innovative, high-quality performances,” says Ballet RI Director Kathleen Breen Combes. “With Ballet Meets The Beatles, we celebrate the enduring legacy of The Beatles while showcasing the bold, forward-thinking vision that defines Ballet RI.”
