Today’s Avenue Concept Downtown Art Tour and Artist Meetup
The Avenue Concept is hosting a downtown public art tour offering insight into its creation and an opportunity to meet a couple of the artists.

Embrace your creative side and take in the stories told on the walls of the Creative Capital with a downtown art tour.
Today, the Avenue Concept invites the public to admire work made by their artists featuring various murals and sculptures.
Founded in 2012, the Providence art organization has worked to fund and support over 200 pieces of art from local, national, and international artists. They help to promote the integration of art within the city and educate the community on its importance.
The tour begins at 4:30 p.m. on Westminster Street and ends at 5:30 p.m. on Weybosset Street. A meet and greet will take place after the tour concludes with two Weybosset artists, Michelle Perez and Marius Keo Marjolin.
Perez painted “Parade,” her new mural at 35 Weybosset St as part of TAC’s Weybosset Residency (pictured above). The Providence-based illustrator and designer aims to capture fluidity and visual rhythm in her work, inspired by the sounds that move her.
“With the warm weather, sound and commotion return to the streets of Providence – eliciting nostalgia for neighborhood gatherings in the ambient glow of city lights, and the hum of skateboard and bike wheels against concrete,” Perez says. “I wanted to represent this in the form of a fish lantern typically carried by kayakers along the canals, instead paraded by a small fleet of riders. The fish’s whiskers, adorned with drop-shaped bells, announce the season.”
