A Lilly Pulitzer Afternoon at the Ocean House
Ocean House and Lilly Pulitzer teamed up for charitable giving, plus a seaside luncheon and fashion show, too.
The sprawling green lawn at Ocean House and views of the Atlantic Ocean were backdrop to a Lilly Pulitzer-themed luncheon and fashion show on Friday afternoon. Women wore bright Lilly Pulitzer dresses and floppy hats, and colorful umbrellas hung over the tables which offered some shade from the sun. Hosted by Ocean House proprietor Deborah Royce and the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving, a portion of the proceeds was used to help children and families in the local community.
Hundreds of guests who were dressed in their best Lilly Pulitzer prints snacked on passed canapes like caprese skewers, avocado toast and sesame crab salad and more, and miniature hot dogs which were inspired by the Veuve Clicquot Secret Garden at the inn. Wine and champagne plus Lilly’s lemonade cocktails that were made with local KEEL Vodka was poured. Following drinks and snacks, a three-course lunch was served. Food included tomato gazpacho, a salad topped with shrimp or grilled chicken and three macarons for dessert.
During lunch, local ladies some of which were from the Rhode Island community modeled dresses, skirts and more from Lilly Pulitzer’s collection ‘Endless Summer,’ which is part of the fall collection. Models included Alexa Curtis, CEO of Life Unfiltered, Ashley Erling, the executive producer of the Rhode Show, Kathy Conger, past president of Stonington Garden Club, a leading local group that encourages interest in the environment and conservation, Alison Darrell, a local community leader, who helps brings bicycles to individuals who would not otherwise be able to cycle and more.
The Watch Hill Inn, an Ocean House Management Collection Property in Watch Hill is also home to a vibrant Lilly Pulitzer Suite which is adorned in colorful bedding and pillows, painted prints, gold touches and a deck with sweeping views of the Atlantic.
Ocean House offers other fun summer events for guests and non-guests alike including movies and barbecues on the beach, lobster boils, an Alpine family carnival and more. For a full list of events or to reserve tickets, click here.
