A legendary Boston chef is revamping the menu and concept at Beech in Jamestown. Michael Schlow, who might be best known for his role in running the former Radius restaurant in Boston, has partnered up with Conanicut Restaurant Group as a chef and managing partner to oversee operations. Schlow has introduced a New American menu with Mediterranean influences to the waterfront restaurant on Jamestown Harbor with views of the Newport Bridge while injecting his James Beard Award-winning-touch on the restaurant.

Schlow is working with Eric Warren as executive chef, who originally helmed the kitchen at Beech when it first opened in 2022. The restaurant also now offers expanded al fresco dining with new covered seating in the third floor’s Treehouse Bar and dining area.

Menu highlights include tuna tartare with cucumbers, caviar and spicy ponzu sauce; mussels “Meuniere” with celery salad of baby arugula, red onion, lemon and shaved Parmigiano; steak frites with bistro sauce, sauteed spinach and fries; and homemade chitarra with spicy lobster and shrimp diavola.

Schlow was named “Best Chef in the Northeast” by the James Beard Foundation, and has appeared on nation al media including “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters,” “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The Rachel Ray Show,” “CBS This Morning,” “Nightline” and The Food Network.

Beech is now open seven days a week, Sunday-Thursday from 4:30-9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4:30-9 p.m.
