Finding a way to balance family, work and still have time to yourself is a challenge to everyone, and none know it better than new parents. That’s why the Haven Collection has been hard at work to provide an environment where new moms and dads can pursue their own opportunities while their children receive quality care. Through their clubs in Rhode Island and New Jersey, parents can work, relax and better themselves with their kids right next door. And thanks to the success of their initial seed round, the Haven Collection is gearing up to reach even more families.

The organization was originally founded in 2019 by Britt Riley, Morgan Everson and Christy Johnson, with the mission of offering a daycare that could provide for the whole family, parents and children alike. Their pilot, the Coggeshall Club, was established that same year in Middletown, Rhode Island, and a second in Gladstone, New Jersey last summer. These clubs provide childcare facilities five days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. right alongside workspaces, gyms and self-care programs for parents. The Haven Collection has become the first licensed daycare to offer free unlimited use of workspaces and gyms to parents in the United States.

But the clubs aren’t just for the betterment of the parents. The Haven Collection’s education director Haley Paige, and behavioral specialist Dr. Deanna Conley, have worked hard to develop a unique philosophy towards childcare in order to give these kids the environment they need to grow. The facilities are structured for babies and young children from birth to pre-kindergarten, and allow them to explore and learn through play-based care from fully-qualified caregivers. There are no required minimums or set schedules, so parents can have full flexibility to scale up or scale down as they need.

Hundreds of families are currently a part of the Haven Collection, and more are on the way. The company has just closed on its initial seed round, raising $2.6 million from six investors. This fundraising had originally begun in 2019, but due to complications from the pandemic, the company was forced to halt their plans for growth as well as temporarily shut down their clubs. The hope now is to use these funds for their next steps, including more club locations to serve even more families in need.

“We are so proud to announce this major milestone,” says Britt Riley. “Completing our funding and getting back on track with new club openings is a testament to the viability of our concept and the demand for a childcare option that emphasizes care for the entire family.”

The Haven Collection’s goal is to reach 100,000 families within the next five years using this funding, and to help those families through their next five years. And with remote work and school more accessible than ever, and a greater emphasis on taking care of ourselves along with our families, their services might be just what new parents need to thrive.
