The Cocktail Guru Expands Services Menu and Welcomes New Lineup of Mixologists

What started as a side-hustle for Newport-based craft cocktail bartender Johnathan Pogash has now turned into a multi-platform hospitality consulting business with several branches of service.
His brand, the Cocktail Guru, is an innovative, educational service focused on training restaurants and their staff on how to properly mix up and pour out deliciously detailed and crafty cocktails. With a team of expert mixologists, the Cocktail Guru boasts a menu of signature drinks as well as a curriculum of educational practices used by and for restaurants and bars across the country.
This impressive business, however, is not stopping there. As of January 2023, Pogash has announced an expansion of its services as well as their lineup of mixologists.
In an effort to adapt to the ever-changing conditions of COVID and reach a wider audience, the company now offers hybrid and fully-online consulting sessions. These sessions not only include staff training on bartending and mixology, but also advice on restaurant and bar branding, marketing and concept development as informed by the company’s renowned expertise.
Also on its robust roster is catering for special events. The Cocktail Guru may now be hired to host engaging company happy hours, team building classes, private parties, media appearances and more.
To top it all off, the Cocktail Guru’s team of experts are also being shaken up. The business welcomes a star-studded collection of spirits-world all stars like Tiffanie Barriere—a personality who has appeared on The Today Show and the Food Network— and Pam Wiznitzer from the award-winning bar Dead Rabbit, along with artist and mixologist Glendon Hartley.
With more personal services that cater to the company’s individual consumers, new talent that boasts industry knowledge with the resumes to prove it and a podcast that hosts and toasts culinary legends to famed celebrities, the Cocktail Guru’s transformation is equal parts education and entertainment, garnished with enjoyment.
