The 25th Annual Rhode Island Design Awards
Pop open the bubbly! Time to celebrate our favorites over the years.
Classic Country
the project: A 1903 commercial building becomes home to the Audrain automobile museum and offices in Newport.
What the judges liked in 2015: The architects rescued this elegant building from lackluster renovations and turned it into a razzle dazzle showcase.
Why we like it now: It’s almost as if this building was meant to house these beautiful antique cars, and Bellevue Avenue is a perfect home. It shows the owner had the right restoration priorities, paying homage to the original architect with a
respectful renovation.
