Dessert for dinner is real thing at Gracie’s in Providence. The beloved Providence restaurant, established in 1988, is reviving Sucreé: A Sweet Tasting Soirée at Gracie’s on Sunday, April 21 from 6-9 p.m. for the first time since before the pandemic. The event will feature a three-course menu of sweets with a whimsical garden theme, paired with elaborate cocktails and mocktails.
The dessert tasting will be prepared by guest pastry chefs, including the former Gracie’s pastry chef Melissa Denmark of Moonrose Farm, Kerri Spady of Ellie’s, and Caitlyn McGuire, also formerly of Gracie’s, who is now at Prica Farina in Warren. Creative cocktails (or mocktails) will also be crafted by Gracie’s Beverage and Spirits Leader, Juliet DeMasi.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Southside Community Land Trust, a local organization committed to promoting community gardens and urban agriculture. Tickets are available for $100 per person (cocktails); $75 (mocktails).
Gracie’s has earned AAA Four Diamond status yearly since 2011, and offers a seasonally based menu with locally sourced ingredients. Choose from a five- or seven-course chef’s tasting in the dining room, or have dessert before dinner with the Sucreé tasting.
“We are thrilled to bring back our popular event, Sucreé, with a whimsical garden theme,” says Ellen Slattery, Gracie’s proprietor. “We are passionate about creating unique dining experiences that delight our guests and benefit our community. We proudly support the Southside Community Land Trust and their mission to promote sustainable agriculture in our city.”
