Hope Blooms
With a considerable amount of elbow grease, Realtor Jess Powers has transformed the former Howland-Gould General Store in Hope into the Hope Collective, two floors of co-working, filming, performance and community space, bordered by thriving gardens and picnic areas carefully tended to by LuLu Locks, the site’s operations manager. The lovingly restored 1826 Greek Revival was the general store for the Hope Manufacturing Company during the 1800s. A Tiny Bits of Joy workshop with the crafty Angela Zampell and a Stitch and B*tch needlecraft meetup are planned for March 14 and 22, respectively. For more information, visit the Hope Collective’s website. 48 Main St., Hope, the-hope-collective.com

Here Comes the Sun
Millions — yes, millions! — of daffodils will start blooming in Little Rhody next month. Here are the best places to see cheerful Narcissus varieties come April. Newport’s Daffodil Days (newportinbloom.org) take place April 1–30, with 1.3 million flowers carpeting the City by the Sea, along with a pooch parade, classic car parade, decorated storefronts and more. See dozens of varieties of daffys at Bristol’s Blithewold (blithewold.org) beginning April 12, where up to 30,000 flowers will illuminate the seaside estate, and don’t forget to meander through Wickford Village (wickfordvillage.org) for its Daffy Dog parade, a sip and stroll, food and drink specials and more.
