The New England Outdoor Living and Garden Show, March 8–10, will showcase outdoor living spaces, as well as culinary treats made by local chefs and restaurants during a new, three-day event at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence.
Wander through beautiful home and garden oases featuring themes like Wedding Garden, Farm to Table, Wine and Pizza and Backyard Paradise. Artists, designers and gardeners are collaborating to create outdoor living scenes that allow guests to experience a makeshift spring day while indoors.
You won’t go hungry, whether you visit for an hour or enjoy all three days. Fifteen Rhode Island restaurants will rotate appearances, and present various delicacies and cocktails, including Blue Fin Grille, Milk Money, Federal Hill Pizza, Pane e Vino, Massimo, Fleming’s, T.R. McGrath, Russell Morin Fine Catering, Tavolo, Trattoria Zooma, Yoleni’s and Roma.
Learn to make some unique dishes yourself via hands-on master classes and celebrity chef demonstrations. The best in the business will be teaching everything from cooking and mixology to wellness and mindfulness. There will also be special events, including Happy Hour in the Beer Garden, when guests can unwind after work with beer and food from local talent in the Providence food scene. Date Night on the rooftop garden bar will include dish samples and specialty cocktails from some of the most talented chefs and mixologists in New England.
Food Network star chef Alex Guarnaschelli, of “Chopped” and “Iron Chef America,” will be signing cookbooks and meeting guests during Saturday night’s VIP event, which will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. Other stars scheduled to appear include Clint Harp and Brandon McMillan. Harp, a craftsman made famous by HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” now has his own show “Wood Work” on the DIY network, while McMillan is a professional animal trainer who works with both pets and wild animals.
Need a souvenir? You can shop for handmade art and other artisan pieces throughout the weekend, in a marketplace featuring unique items from more than forty-five different vendors. The Thursday night Preview Party will benefit the WaterFire Arts Center; and the Saturday night VIP Event will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.
