For those bummed that the Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular will soon come to an end, don’t fret: an equally fantastic walk-through is just around the corner. Starting Friday, November 25 through Sunday, January 1, 2023, the zoo will transform into a sparkling winter wonderland with their second annual Holiday Lights Spectacular. The holiday season event will be even bigger and brighter this time around with larger-than-life dazzling displays featuring more than 3 ½ million festive lights. Attendees are encouraged to bundle up, grab and adult beverage or hot chocolate and stroll through the forty acres of illuminated pathways, encountering everything from radiant reindeers to sparkly snowmen along the way. Families with little ones will want to stop by on Friday nights in December, especially, to see Santa himself. The visit with old Kris Kringle is free to families with a same-night ticket for the 5 or 6 p.m. time slots. The Holiday Lights Spectacular is open rain or shine and the experience runs 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the Holiday Lights spectacular, which will be closed on Christmas eve and Christmas day, must be purchased in advance online.
