Rebecca Zilenziger’s “Inter:Intra Personal” Exhibit Arrives at AS220
The photographer's first solo photography exhibition is a visual and conceptual meditation on the dynamics of empathy, resilience and the human condition.
Photographer Rebecca Zilenziger has waited nearly three years for her first solo exhibition to be displayed at the AS220 Project Space at 93 Mathewson St. in Providence. Her show, “Inter:Intra Personal,” opens on Dec. 6 from 5-7 p.m., and will be on view through Dec. 20 and again on Jan. 8-17. Hours are Wed.-Fri., 1-6 p.m. and Sat., noon-5 p.m.
The artist describes her work: “In this era marked by increasing socio-political fragmentation and ecological dissonance, ‘Inter:Intra Personal’ positions itself as both a visual and conceptual meditation on the dynamics of empathy, resilience and the human condition. This exhibition is grounded in the premise that our current global discourse is dominated by antagonism and polarization, where diplomacy and mutual understanding are often sidelined by reactionary posturing and ideological entrenchment. This exhibition would like to remind us all of the old adage: there is more that connects us than separates us and certainly, empathy and the ability to dream the world into a shared and more harmonious experience, remain within our power, if we make it our aim.”
