On Saturday, June 27 from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Families are invited to the Providence Children’s Museum to celebrates its forty-ninth birthday with a Free Day of Play. Discover themed displays, active programs and physical challenges with the museum’s most popular exhibits, including Water Ways, ThinkSpace, Coming to Rhode Island and the Children’s Garden. Guests can participate in the museum bubble party and special magnet maker activities and are encouraged to see what other offerings the museum has with admission free of charge.

This celebration, thanks to the generous support of Centreville Bank, welcomes all to enjoy the wonder of education and experimentation as the museum inspires the interplay between arts, history, culture and a child’s curiosity. The opportunity opens the window of possibility to not only bring families together, but to emphasize the vibrancy of the city it calls home.

“Giving back to our communities is central to who we are,” says Hal Horvat, the president, CEO and chairman of the board of Centreville Bank. “Supporting the Free Day of Play reflects our commitment to strengthening the communities we serve and investing in opportunities that make a real difference. Helping reduce cost barriers is one way we can make these experiences more accessible for local families.”

The Providence Children’s Museum has been a defining feature of Rhode Island’s capital since the 1970s, fostering bold thinkers across all communities and backgrounds. As children ages one to eleven unlock learning through play within a place of nurture and creativity, Providence Children’s Museum hopes to give back to visitors for their ongoing support.

Admission is free for all visitors. Further information regarding Free Day of Play can be found on the museum’s website. Providence Children’s Museum, 100 South St., Providence, 401- 273-5437, providencechildrensmuseum.org
