We hope you’re hungry, Rhode Island: Pawtucket Restaurant Week is returning mid-September with special menu offerings from more than fifteen participating local restaurants. These include:

From Asian dishes to Portuguese recipes to Caribbean delicacies, this is your chance to experience diverse authentic flavors all from the comfort of your own state.

“Pawtucket Restaurant Week is a celebration of our diverse restaurant community which showcases the best of our city, and the many hidden gems people should visit,” says Pawtucket’s Commerce Director, Sandra Cano.

The celebration will also include two special events. The first is the annual Pawtucket-Central Falls Empanada-Fest in downtown Pawtucket on September 11 from 12 to 3 p.m. Following the success of last year’s debut, this mini food festival encourages attendees to sample empanadas from many local eateries and then vote to determine just who has the top turnover. The event will also feature live local music and entertainment.

“We are very excited to host the second annual PCF Empanada-Fest this year,” Cano says. “Empanada-Fest features restaurants representing many different cultures and cuisines including those from across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Cape Verde. This event highlights our many empanada/patty making eateries and gives people the opportunity to sample flavors from across the globe.”

The second date worth jotting down is the grand finale of Pawtucket Restaurant Week on Sunday, September 18, when Pawtucket Pizza Palooza will take place at Slater Park from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Like the fest that came before it, the palooza will feature a variety of different vendors who will be vying for best pie.

Both the Empanada-Fest and the Pizza Palooza are ticketed events with limited space available on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
