Newport Craft Opens Doors to New Tasting Room Just in Time for Memorial Day
Stop by on Saturday, May 27 to experience the new outdoor area, sample their craft selection and preview other renovation updates to the "brewstillery."
Hopheads, get ready to cheer(s): After a lengthy hiatus, Newport Craft Brewing and Distilling Co. is finally ready to unveil its new outdoor area just in time for Memorial Day. The $22 million six-acre renovation project is nearly complete and the Newport Craft team is thrilled to welcome guests back to New England’s largest “brewstillery” (by production) to enjoy its expansive selection of craft beers and spirits.
“The team and I are excited to once again share the property with Newporters, Aquidneck Islanders and all who visit. We have missed the energy, excitement and flavor our visitors add to the experience of brewing, distilling and enjoying Newport Craft products. I personally cannot wait to show the public what we have been working on for the last several years,” says Newport Craft CEO, Brendan O’Donnell.
On Saturday, May 27, guests are welcome to stop by not only to sample Newport Craft’s portfolio of products with fellow craft beer and spirit lovers in their new outdoor space, but also to view the installation of the new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and event spaces. The tasting room will be open that day (and every Saturday) from 12-9 p.m., as well as Sundays from 12-6 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 4–8 p.m. and Fridays 4–9 p.m.
“We are proud of what we are building, and the value add to the City of Newport and the State of Rhode Island. Not shutting down the production facility and actually growing as a company during the construction process, is a testament to Newport Craft’s commitment to its customers, employees and the greater Aquidneck Island community,” adds O’Donnell. “Saturday’s opening is just the beginning and will feature the new, first floor outdoor tasting pavilion, several outdoor seating areas, parking for over 300 vehicles, and a sprawling field overlooking the Pell Bridge that will be available for additional parking and entertainment for up to 700 people. The final construction phase includes the installation and fit-out of the second floor catering kitchen and event space with an expected seating capacity for up to 200 guests, the second floor, outdoor tasting pavilion with a capacity for an additional 250 guests, and the brewing and distilling production floors.”
As announced earlier this year, Newport Craft has engaged Parker Construction Company of East Providence to bring renovation and expansion project to life. The project will triple Newport Craft’s manufacturing footprint, create separate brewing and distilling production areas, open new tasting rooms, and provide private function event space. The expansion will maximize the Company’s output by increasing annual production to 100,000 BBL and facilitate the storage of 5,000 barrels of aging spirits. Newport Craft expects to reopen the entire facility and be fully operational by December 2023. For more information, visit newportcraft.com.
