Where better to spend summer days like these than on Block Island, Rhode Island’s resident beach paradise? This week, we compare two similar summer cottages that are perfect for island living.

This private gray-shingled cottage, built in 1940, is located down a long driveway and has water views. The first floor features a quaint, combined living room and kitchen space with the one bathroom just off the main area. The lofted second floor has a small master and second bedroom just across the hall. Wash off from a day at the beach day in the outdoor shower. Then spend your evening relaxing in the yard’s picnic area or on the small back deck.
