Giant Bugs are Taking Over Roger Williams Park Zoo This Spring
The new buzzworthy exhibit will open April 11 and run through August 9.

First, it was dinosaurs. Then mythical creatures. Now, Roger Williams Park Zoo is welcoming a whole host of giant insects to its grounds with open arms.
Starting Saturday, April 11, visitors will get the chance to experience the busy world of backyard bugs at a magnified level. If your little one’s (or even your own!) special interest has always been cute creepy crawlies, this is their chance to come face-to-face with and get an up close look at larger-than-life ants, caterpillars, beetles, ladybugs and more.
Along the way you can also climb spider webs, crawl through honeycombs, wander through enormous plants and even dodge a ravenous Venus flytrap. Plus, this is a great chance for you and the fam to learn more about how these tiny creatures actually play a very big role in our environment, as well as how we can help protect them and ensure that role remains intact.
The zoo will also host a couple special events related to the new interactive experience. On the mornings of April 26 and July 5, families with members who have autism spectrum disorders and sensory processing differences are encouraged to take advantage of special sensory-friendly opportunities from 8 to 9 a.m. (one hour before the Bug’s trail opens to the public). The zoo will also host two special Bug’s Family Nights on the evenings of June 6 and August 8 from 5 to 9 p.m.
A Bug’s World will be on display at Roger Williams Park Zoo from April 11 through August 9. Please note that the exhibit is not included with general zoo admission and a separate ticket is required. Learn more and purchase tickets in advance at rwpzoo.org/tickets.
