One of the hotly debated topics in Rhode Island is where to get the best seafood, especially in the summertime. The shack has two locations: Warren (alongside its market) and Fall River, Massachusetts. But what if you’re in West Bay and you’re craving clam cakes and chowder or clam strips? Here’s what Lisa Benvie had to tell us about Blount Clam Shack’s mobile food truck so you never have to miss out.
Q: Where did the idea for a food truck originate? Did your business start as a brick-and-mortar?
A: Benvie told us that Blount is a more than 100-year-old business “focusing on the sea and its products.” In addition to the food truck, you can also visit the waterfront location for a bite to eat, or the Blount Clam Shack and Market down the street in Warren for fresh seafood daily.
Q: What’s on the menu? Any fan-favorites?
A: Blount specializes in soup and seafood. What does Lisa Benvie recommend? “Lobster rolls! Clam cakes and chowder! [A] Rhode Island tradition for years.” We couldn’t agree more.
Q: Where can foodies find your truck?

Q: What’s next for the business, any exciting developments?
A: “Fall soup season,” is what Benvie is excited for. That’s right, the truck keeps rolling past the summer season, so you can still get your chowder fill in the fall.
