Downtown Providence to Get an Organic Grocery Store
Rory's Market and Kitchen will provide easy access to local, organic produce and prepared foods, plus coffee and a juice bar in the heart of the city.
Downtown Providence will finally have a grocery store come September. Rory’s Market and Kitchen will soon be opening at 113 Washington Street with local, organic produce and prepared foods, plus coffee and a juice bar. City residents and travelers will finally have access to essentials without having to leave the city.
The independently-owned grocery store started out in Cape Cod in 1978. Darby Ziruk opened the first location in Dennisport, Massachusetts, with hopes to bring more organic produce to residents, and then a second location opened in Mashpee in 2014. Darby’s daughter, Rory Eames, took the reins of the family business in 2019. Providence was chosen as the store’s first urban location.
“This is our first urban location, which gives us the opportunity to grow together in such a special city like Providence,” says Rory Eames, owner and namesake of Rory’s. “We are so excited to serve and be part of the community.”
Customers can head to Rory’s Kitchen seven days a week for easy grab-and-go or made-to-order breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as organic cold-pressed juices, smoothies, grain bowls, avocado toasts, salads, sandwiches and more. To make eating healthy even more accessible, they are also offering online ordering, pickup and delivery.
