David Ortiz is Having an Estate Sale This Weekend
Shop Big Papi's collection of sports memorabilia, workout equipment, designer clothing, chic furniture and more.
Here’s a winner of a day trip: This weekend, Massachusetts-based Exceptional Estate Sales is hosting a gigantic event at the home of Red Sox legend, David Ortiz, in Weston, Massachusetts. Last year, Big Papi listed his 8,500 square-foot home for $6.3 million but it was taken off the market in July, about a month after the retired baseball player was shot outside a bar in the Dominican Republic.
Thankfully, Ortiz has recovered and — thankfully for us! — he still has a mind to downsize. Last February, he told Boston Magazine that he was looking to move his family to a condo in Boston so he could be closer to his work consulting with the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.
His house, which he purchased in 2007, is a veritable museum for sports memorabilia. It also displays the Ortiz family’s good design taste. But they can’t take everything with them, and their downsize is our upsize. Here’s a taste of what you can expect at the sale, scheduled for this Saturday, February 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
