401Gives is Back for a Sixth Year of Raising Money for Local Nonprofits
The fourth annual 401Gives is set to once again benefit nearly 600 Rhode Island nonprofits, who will share their stories and collect donations.
The annual 401Gives fundraiser is once again giving everyone the chance to make a difference in Rhode Island with just one click throughout the first day of April.
Powered by United Way of Rhode Island , 401Give brings people together to make a difference for local nonprofits that deliver vital services to our communities throughout the state. 401Gives unites and offers everyone a safe, comfortable, and familiar virtual fundraising experience all while giving nonprofits unrestricted funds that strengthen Rhode Island. The proof is in the pudding: In April 2020, the inaugural 401Gives brought in $1.3 million to 366 nonprofits across Rhode Island while the following year’s campaign nearly doubled its donations to $2.3M across 422 nonprofits. Even more impressive, last year 401Gives made state history by making April 1st, 2025 the the largest single day of giving in Rhode Island by raising more than $3.8 million for 597 local nonprofits from over 16,000 donors.
This year, donations will be accepted beginning promptly at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, and tracked through Wednesday morning. You can keep up with the number of donations, and even see which organizations are having the most success vs. which could use a little more love, by checking out the leaderboards on the 401Gives homepage.
401Gives is being supported by some of the state’s leading businesses and nonprofits, such as the presenting sponsor, Papitto Opportunity Connection, as well as Wave Sponsor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI. Meanwhile, the Rhode Island Foundation and Rhode Island Energy have each committed to matching a portion of the funds raised, while local businesses like the Muse Foundation of RI, Coastal1 Credit Union, KLR and Centreville Bank have generously agreed to sponsor different prizes (think: $500 drawings) to be awarded to participating donors throughout the fundraising efforts.
