Sure, you can grab takeout pizza at every House of Pizza in every town in Rhode Island, but what pizzas are worth traveling for? Pizza is best consumed straight out of the oven (or off the grill, in Al Forno’s case) before letting it sit in a box, so hit the road and slide into a table or counter at one of these pizzerias. We chose superlatives for all our favorite spots, highlighting everything from fusion flavors to build-your-own toppings to vegan and even Thanksgiving pizza. And if you can’t enjoy a pie on-site, then go ahead and bite into your first slice in the car before driving away to get the optimal pie-in-your-face experience. Rhode Island has earned a lot of clout in the pizza world, from inventing the aforementioned grilled pizza to our one-of-a-kind pizza strips. Here’s where to order up!
