Camp Sequoia’s weekly themes include activities such as: hikes on the grounds, exploration of the bamboo forest, trips to the frog pond, beach time, Thursday mornings in the vegetable garden, sprinkler fun, free play and plenty of time outdoors, as well as indoor activities, such as exploring the Mansion, special guest visits, music, games, and summer arts and crafts.

Going Green (July 13 – July 17)
Kids can learn at an early age to actively protect their planet! Get outdoors and engage with the world through play and learning all about the natural world around us! Enjoy fun and useful science experiments, nature journaling, caring for our special camp pollinator garden, planting a camp tree, beach exploration and beach cleanups, cool eco-art projects and more!
Life at Sea (July 20 – 24)
Everyone loves beach week at Blithewold! Get ready to immerse yourself in the diverse and amazing ecosystem of Narragansett Bay! Experience hands-on exploration in our fascinating shore-side habitats and learn about local sea life. We will explore the exciting life of a sailor and study ways to prevent ocean pollution. Campers will get creative making seashell murals and other crafts that celebrate various creatures of the sea.
Theater Week (July 27 – July 31)
Lights! Cameras! Action! Join us this week for some theatrical fun, including acting lessons, special guests, costume making, music, role playing, art al fresco, creative writing, and garden expeditions. The week will end with an original camp theatrical production we’ll put on for our family and friends.
Eco Explorers (August 3 – 7)
Looking for a great adventure this summer? Come and explore all 33 acres of Blithewold’s gardens, forests, beaches, frog ponds, meadows and more! Campers will use their detective skills, making exciting new nature discoveries each day! Get a close look at Blithewold’s wonderfully diverse habitats as we learn about Blithewold as an arboretum and ways we can help the environment as we take nature walks and explore the great outdoors.
Land of Make-Believe (August 10 – 14)
Campers are encouraged to bring their imagination to camp this week — it will be filled with forts and fairies, stories and plays, science experiments, nature and surprises! Campers will go on beach excursions, search for frogs, insects, and flowers, create their very own herbal “potions”, write their own stories, and even create fairy or gnome houses in the gardens.
Junior Picassos (August 17 – 21)
The majestic gardens and grounds of Blithewold are true inspiration for budding artists! This week, junior Picassos will special artist visits, enjoy art al fresco, nature art projects, culinary arts, floral design, saltwater painting at the beach, sculpting, music, and photography, all while learning about artists from around the world.
