Fashion is the one of the best ways to express a personality, a mood or even one’s creativity. And lucky for Rhode Island fashionistas, StyleWeek Northeast will return to the Ocean State on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

StyleWeek Northeast, or SWNE, was founded in 2009 and to this day remains New England’s leading fashion week held in Rhode Island. Inspired by the world’s design scene, SWNE is a week dedicated to showcasing emerging fashion designers within professional runway settings reminiscent of those you would see at top city fashion events across the globe. Encouragement of the arts is to be shown within the designs all while bringing forth an economic impact to the state of Rhode Island. SWNE showcases more than 200 designers from all across the U.S. and even Canada and is one of the only fashion weeks in the region that has been visited by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), a New York-based organization which has been recognized by heads of state and national publications.

SWNE collaborates with universities, high schools and elementary schools to highlight young talent and rising student fashion designers through the SEED Student Design Challenge. Over the years, SWNE has featured participants from Mass Art, Parsons School of Design, Rhode Island School of Design, Johnson and Wales, FIT and many more schools from surrounding areas. This stylish week is devoted not only to fashion, but also to the growth of designers as artists. SWNE has a mission to be recognized as a trade event that can ignite an economic glimmer in Rhode Island. Not your typical fashion week, fashion make up only about 15 percent of what SWNE does. It also provides branding, public relations and marketing to all those involved in its events — everyone is considered VIP.

SWNE’s micro fashion event will take place June 16, 2022, at the Capital Grille in Providence. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with cocktail hour followed by the SEED Student Design Challenge at 6:30 p.m. The main portion of the show will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and feature the works of local designers Alexandra Renee Bianchi, Anna Lemley, Tatyana Ayriyan and Zoe Grinfeld. You can purchase tickets in advance here starting May 15. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Festival Ballet of Providence in an effort to protect the arts. For more information, visit
