Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport Soars Toward Another Top Honor
Here’s how you can help PVD win Best Domestic Airport for the second year in a row, and what that win means for the community.
Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) has once again earned a nomination for Travel + Leisure’s Best Domestic Airport, marking its sixth consecutive year. The airport had been steadily climbing the ranks before earning the top spot last year, an achievement they look to repeat again.
The World’s Best Awards
Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards recognizes excellence across the travel and lifestyle industry, from food, wine, hotels, cruises, cities, airports and much more. To earn a World’s Best nomination, experts review extensive industry data and performance metrics to identify contenders.
While experts select the nominees, readers make the final decision. Travelers share their opinions and experiences across a range of categories, with airports rated on access, check-in/security, restaurants/bars, shopping and design. Voters evaluate each category from excellent to poor and the final score, and winner, reflects an average of those responses.
Making A Name For Rhode Island
Winning this award represents much more than a title for PVD, it serves as a point of pride for the entire Rhode Island community. Last year’s win was a testament to the airport’s continued enhancements to improve the customer experience.
Responders from last year’s voting shared that they chose to travel farther in order to fly out of PVD, opting for its operational excellence over congested big-city airports.
Continued Improvement
PVD understands that in order to meet customer needs and expectations, there will always be a need for constant improvement. Since last year’s awards season, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport has replaced their terminal flooring, introduced new restaurants, and begun runway and gate bridge construction.
Airport leadership decides on upgrades based on funding availability and the most critical infrastructure needs. Over the next few years, travelers can look forward to continued improvements throughout the terminal as PVD continues to focus on improving the overall passenger experience.
Make Your Voice Heard
Voting for the 2026 World’s Best Awards is now open and will close February 23. Results will be featured in the magazine’s August issue. Travelers who believe in PVD’s greatness can help the airport secure their second straight win by casting their vote here.
