Soak Up Live Music at an Outdoor Summer Concert Series

Where to go in Rhode Island this summer for live music in the great outdoors.

Who doesn’t love a good outdoor, summer concert? It’s even better when it’s paired with wine and snacks. We’ve rounded up a few summer concert series that are going on in Rhode Island and in Southeastern, Massachusetts.

1. Newport Vineyards Summer Concert Series

Enjoy some wine or visit the Taproot Brewing Company, and soak up the vineyard views at Newport Vineyards. The concerts happen on Saturdays and Sundays from July 13–Sept. 1 from 1–4 p.m. There is also a Wednesday music series, and the schedule can be viewed here. Some of the artists include the Yacht Club RejectsDylan Harley and more. 909 East Main Rd., Middletown, 401-848-5161, newportvineyards.com

2. Concerts Under the Elms

The Rhode Island Historical Society presents Concerts Under the Elms. This summer concert series is held Thursday evenings at the John Brown House Museum lawn. Various food trucks will also be present. General admission is $10 while children younger than twelve years old and RIHS members receive free admission. Tickets may be purchased at the site on the day of the concert. Performances include the Driftwoods with food trucks Noble Knots and Like No Udder on July 25 and the American Band accompanied by food trucks Lotus Pepper and Like no Udder on Aug. 8. 3. Gazebo Concert Series

Grab your blanket or beach chair and enjoy the beautiful, scenic Narragansett Beach while listening to the Gazebo Concert Series on select Friday nights, starting at 6 p.m. Every concert featured is free, family-friendly and open to the public. Artists include the Granite City Rock Band, Boot Hill Band, the Ravers and more. Keep yourself updated on any schedule changes on the website. 4. Live in the Vineyard at Nickel Creek Vineyard 

Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and listen to live tunes (July 21, Nick Bosse; Aug. 18, Steve Malec; Sept. 1, Laney Dionne; Oct. 13, Ray Cooke). 5. Running Brook Vineyards Free Concert Series

Join Running Brook Vineyards for a free concert every weekend. Concerts extend into the winter, and the only difference? Summer concerts are outdoors and winter concerts are indoors. Feel free to bring a snack or two and enjoy some great food and wine.
