Folk On: Newport Folk Festival Returns with Two Three-Day Events of Live Music in July
Tickets for the three-day events go on sale at 11 a.m. on May 18.
This Tuesday, tickets go on sale for a COVID-safe twist on the celebrated Newport Folk Fest.
Called “Folk On,” this modified version of the festival will be more intimate than years past. Capacity will be capped at 50 percent compared to previous years and performances are limited to two main stages.
To bring just as many excellent musicians and folk music lovers to the City by the Sea, the festival will be split into two three-day events, the first from July 23 to 25 and the second from July 26 to 28. As always, renowned musicians and special surprise guests will perform at the festival grounds at Fort Adams, filling the Narragansett Bay with their music.
Past years have included appearances by Maggie Rogers, Hozier, Leon Bridges, Kacey Musgraves and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes. This year’s line-up is sure to be as star-studded as ever and tickets will likely sell out just as fast, so be ready when sales open at 11 a.m. on May 18. Tickets are $230 plus fees for adults, $90 plus fees for children ages three to twelve. Children younger than two are free. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite.
As the event draws nearer, festival organizers will announce COVID protocols in more detail to ensure that all attendees remain safe. Stay up to date by checking newportfestivals.org.
